Mexican metallers AZTLAN released their debut album entitled 'Mexico Inmortal' back in November 2019. They spoke for Metal Horizons about the release, touring, and more.
Alright, first thing is first. Before we dive into all the music stuff, how's life?Quite calm, between work and music. We dedicate part of our lives to music since we are very passionate about this art.
Speaking of new music, you have an album. What can people expect from “Mexico Inmortal”?A wide range of traditional Mexican sounds, from ancestral music to folk music such as "Son Jarocho" and "Mariachi" mixed with Metal music. It is a sound tour of ancient and current Mexico.
What was it like working on the album? It was quite gratifying, since in the course of the composition and recording we discovered many sounds and musical genres, and the satisfaction of mixing them with the sound of Metal was the engine to continue doing what we like so much.
Are there any touring plans in support to “Mexico Inmortal”?We are preparing our tour in Mexico, and we also hope to tour in other countries.
While we are on the subject of touring, what countries would you love to tour? Our desire is to take our music to every corner of the world, no matter what country it is.
Who and what inspires you the most?We are inspired by all the music we listen to, we are passionate about the sound of Metal and music in general, we are inspired by people like Santana, Ritchie Valens, Dug Dugs, The Chasm, Cenotaph, Shub Niggurath, Luzbel and many more.
What other genres of music do you listen to? Have any of the other genres you listen to had any impact on your playing? We listen to folk music from both Mexico and other countries, we are passionate to discover what music is like in other parts of the world, and of course it influences us to make our music.
I really appreciate you giving us your time today. Is there anything else you would like to tell us and the fans before we wrap things up?Thank you very much for the space on your page, greetings to all Metalhorizons.com readers, for more information on Aztlan visit the official website www.aztlan-official.com
