This release is being put on my top ten year end list, end of story. Amiensus play atmospheric post black metal, which is just so damn good. Like a roller coaster, the tracks take you for highs and lows and the contrast within the vocals create a wonderful feeling that resonates throughout your body. This is the ideal form of metal to me, a mixture of styles, a canvas of different mediums. They hit it spot on with the title, for this album truly does ascend to a place where few have tread.
